Front and center in a flower garden, a cheerful little unicorn looks back over its shoulder with big sparkly eyes and a gentle smile. Three butterflies have landed on it. One sits on the tip of the horn, one in the long wavy mane near the ear, and one on the flowing side of the mane. A long striped tail sweeps out behind. Tall layered-petal flowers with pointed leaves rise on both sides, and a round leafy bush and a few grass tufts fill the bottom corner. Thick, clear outlines and big open areas help younger kids practice staying inside the lines. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the large pony body, face, and legs with pale lavender, leaving the small white highlights on the legs and the eye shine white.
- 2Color the flowing mane and tail with sky blue, cornflower blue, golden yellow, orchid pink, and lilac purple, working from the top of the mane down.
- 3Paint the flower petals in coral pink, sky blue, and lilac purple, and fill the flower centers with golden yellow.
- 4Color the leaves and the grass tufts with grass green, then fill the bush leaves with forest green.
- 5Add the butterflies with golden yellow wings and pistachio green on the lower top wing, and color the horn with golden yellow and orchid pink stripes.
- 6Optional: Add a little soft violet shading along the mane and chest to give the pony a bit more depth.
