A round nut character with a cracked texture and a determined little smile wears an upside-down bucket on its head, handle showing at the side. It has big expressive eyes, one hand on its hip and a long leafy stick held like a staff in the other hand. Chunky boots cover its feet. At the bottom right, a friendly snail with a spiral shell and eyestalks looks up at it. Leafy plants frame both sides, and the ground is scattered with pebbles, dirt patches and small grass tufts. The bucket, boots and shell give kids plenty of different shapes to fill in. Tan and light brown work for the nut, a bright blue or red bucket makes the hat stand out, and a yellow-orange swirl looks good on the shell. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the wall-nut body and both of its legs light tan, leaving the two big eye whites white.
- 2Fill the bucket, its top rim and the side brims bright yellow, then color the lower band amber and the ear and handle bits golden orange.
- 3Color the boots and their soles sky blue, and the hands bright yellow.
- 4Color the stick medium brown with a sand beige knot, the snail shell dark brown, and the snail body pale butter yellow.
- 5Fill the plants and leaves with light green, using forest green for the darker bushes and grass, and leave the ground white with a gray pebble.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading on the lower side of the wall-nut body and the bucket for depth.
