Snarling Anime Wolf in Crouched Stance

A single wolf crouches low with its back arched and its shoulders hunched forward. Its head hangs near the front paws, ears pinned back, brow furrowed and eyes narrowed. The mouth is open in a snarl that shows the teeth and fangs, and there are wrinkles across the nose and a small scar-like mark near one eye. Spiky fur rises along the neck and back, with shaggy tufts on the chest and legs. Long claws show on each of the visible paws, and a big bushy tail sweeps out behind the body. The lines are clean and the body areas are large and open, which makes it easy to color for older kids and teens. Try a gray and white palette, then shade the spiky back fur darker and leave the teeth and claws bright for contrast. It also works well for talking about how artists show mood through posture and expression.
