Olaf bends way over to smell a single tulip, eyes closed and a happy little smile on his face. His stick arms stretch out for balance and his twig hair sticks up from his head. Behind him, a row of snow-covered pine trees fills the background, and small tufts of grass dot the open ground. In the bottom left corner there's a little round patch with a tuft inside. The tulip has long, simple leaves, which makes it easy for small hands. Bright pink or red suits the flower bud and fresh greens the leaves, and soft blues and grays on the snowy branches will help the tulip stand out. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with Olaf's large body and head: color the big back shape and the head in warm brown, leaving the teeth white.
- 2Color the back shape and belly area in orange brown, and fill the lower belly, hand and arm with a soft peach.
- 3Fill the pine trees with light green on the lighter branches and medium green on the darker tiers, then add dark green to the bottom pines.
- 4Color the tulip in golden yellow, then add the grass and the stone with light gray and dark brown. Leave the snow and background white.
- 5Optional: Add a little darker shading on the lower parts of the trees and Olaf's body to make the scene feel more layered.
