Sonic Boom Skylanders Crouching Bird With Spiral Cuffs
Coloring guide
Crouched low with wings lifted, beak open and head crest standing up, this bird-like creature looks ready to strike. Big bubble letters at the bottom spell out Sonic Boom, the Skylanders character. There's a lot to color: layered wing feathers, a jagged row of feathers down the neck, and spiral designs on the headpiece and the banded leg cuffs. Curved sweeping bands across the body hint at a sonic blast, and the sharp talons are drawn clearly. No background, so your child can concentrate on the character. Bright teal or blue on the wings looks bold, with sunny yellow on the beak and claws and a contrasting color for the swirly cuffs. Save it as a free PDF to grow your collection. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big yellow areas: wings, tail blade, feet and claws in lemon yellow, leaving the letters of the title for later.
- 2Fill the head crest, the red bands on the head, the cheeks and the inner wing in bright red and crimson red, keeping the eye whites and the mouth highlights white.
- 3Color the chest and lower body in cream, then add the belly underside and the wrist feathers in muted purple and dusty purple for contrast.
- 4Use sky blue, royal blue and deep blue on the upper wing feathers and the crest spikes, leaving small white gaps between feathers for a bright look.
- 5Finish the cuffs and claws with medium gray, add the black pupils and beak lines, and color the title letters in lemon yellow with white highlights.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading in navy blue along the edges of the wings and the crest for depth.
