A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.

• royal blue
• charcoal gray
• light peach
• golden yellow
• caramel
• medium gray
• dark brown
• tan brown
• dark bronze

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Start with the skin: fill the face, neck, ears, hands and forearms with light peach, leaving the eye whites and lips for later.
2. 2Color the jacket body and sleeves with royal blue, then fill the trousers with charcoal gray.
3. 3Add the golden yellow stripes down the front of the jacket, along the belt and across the sleeve bands and shoulder trims.
4. 4Fill the hair with dark brown and the staff with medium gray, leaving the small bottom-left background, wrist edge and belt end white.
5. 5Optional: Add caramel accents to the collar and chest straps, then finish the dark bronze hip trim and small details with a fine tip.
