Step Stool Bear Hanging a Heart on the Christmas Tree

Wearing a knitted scarf, a smiling teddy bear stands on a small wooden step stool and reaches up to put a heart-shaped ornament on a big tree. The star-topped tree also has striped and dotted round baubles, another heart, and long beaded garlands draped over the fluffy branches. At the bear's feet is an open box of extra ornaments, one more bauble sits on the ground, and a spool of ribbon with a curling end lies by the trunk. There's a nice mix here, from big simple areas to small patterns, so kids can pick what suits them. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the bear's body, head, ears, arm and legs with caramel brown, then fill the inner ear and paw areas with peach.
- 2Color the scarf and its fringe with bright red, leaving the small white stripes at the ends.
- 3Fill the whole Christmas tree, including the top, branches and right edge, with forest green, then color the trunk dark brown.
- 4Color the gift box and the heart ornaments with bright red, and fill the stool top and legs with light tan and chestnut brown.
- 5Color the blue ornaments with sky blue, the yellow ornament and the small ornament at the bottom left with golden yellow, and the ornaments in the box with dark red and dusty purple.
- 6Optional: Leave the white highlights and the gaps between the stool and tree white, and add a little darker shading on the bear and the tree branches for depth.
