Storybook by the Fire, Princess Christmas Reading Nook
Coloring guide
Settled into a big cushioned armchair, a little girl with short curly hair reads an open storybook while a sleepy kitten curls up on her lap. She wears a holly-leaf crown and a puff-sleeved dress with a round brooch at the collar and a full skirt with a scalloped hem. Her book shows a castle on one page and pine trees on the other. Next to her, a brick fireplace holds a crackling fire on a log grate. The mantel above is dressed with a holly garland and a big bow, and a small lantern with a candle sits on top. Orange and yellow make a warm fire, and deep reds and greens on the garland help that cozy glow stand out. Print this free page for a quiet, creative moment. - 3Color the girl's face and hands with peach skin, and the hair with light gold, leaving the eye whites white.
- 4Paint the cat with amber orange and the book cover with sky blue, keeping the snowy trees and page edges white.
- 5Color the fireplace stones with stone beige, the garland and tiara leaves with leaf green, and the bow and holly berries with christmas red.
- 6Optional: Add flame orange and bright yellow to the fire, and charcoal gray to the logs and the wall above the fire for depth.
