Sugar Skull Halloween Mask with Flowers and a Heart Nose

A smiling sugar skull covers the page, with a large daisy-style flower in the middle of the forehead and a smaller one on each side. Pointed leaves surround the blossoms, and a cluster of leaf shapes sits right above the eyes. The eye sockets are big circles, each with a ring around it, which makes them an ideal place for bold color. A small heart stands in for the nose, and a row of rounded teeth forms the grin. The cheeks are decorated with teardrop swirls, tiny dots and circles, and one more flower with leaves sits on the chin. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring the skull background with a soft cream, leaving the eye sockets and all the teeth white.
- 2Fill the large flower at the top with tangerine orange, then color the two rings around the eyes and the small dots on the cheeks with sunny yellow.
- 3Color the two small flowers beside the big one with violet purple, and fill the bottom flower with sky blue.
- 4Add leaf green to all the leaves, including the ones near the eyes and at the bottom, then color the heart-shaped nose with bubblegum pink.
- 5Color the cheek teardrops, using coral red for the upper ones and sky blue for the lower ones.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading along the edges of the petals and leaves with a slightly darker shade of the same color to make them pop.
