Garden Helpers: Rainbow Rangers Watering Carrots and Flowers
Coloring guide
Two kids in masks and capes team up in a backyard garden. The boy has a star on his shirt and tall boots, and he tips a flower-decorated watering can so droplets fall over the plants. Next to him, a girl with a ponytail and a heart on her shirt kneels in the soil and plants a daisy-like flower with gloved hands. Young carrot plants line the front, and sunflowers and other blooms grow on the right. Behind them, a wheelbarrow overflows with harvested carrots in front of a wooden picket fence, where a small tabby cat peeks over the top. A sun shines in the corner. Bright orange carrots, golden sunflowers and a rainbow of colors on the capes would be fun. Big shapes and fine details give kids plenty of choices. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sun and the star on the boy's shirt in golden yellow, then fill the fence and garden bushes with amber and grass green.
- 2Color the lawn and grass patches in bright green, and paint the soil under the carrots and flowers in warm brown.
- 3Paint the boy's cape and jeans in royal blue, his shirt and the wheelbarrow in bright red, and the girl's cape in bright red as well.
- 4Color the girl's shirt and pants in deep purple and lilac purple, her mask in soft lavender, and her heart in hot pink.
- 5Fill the carrots with tangerine orange, the watering can in sky blue, the cat in light orange, and the skin areas in peach skin; leave the cat's chest and flower petals pale cream or white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading in the soil and under the carrot leaves to make them pop.
