Sword Practice Day with Nella the Princess Knight
Coloring guide
Our knight has a high ponytail and a big grin as she swings a wooden sword at a straw training dummy. Little burst lines by the dummy show the hit landing. She's dressed in armor with shoulder guards, gloves, a belt, a short tunic, knee pads and tall boots, and her feet are planted wide. The dummy is a bundle of straw tied with rope on a post. Behind her you'll see a wooden fence, stacked hay bales, a wooden bucket, grass tufts, and a stone castle tower with a battlement wall. Kids who enjoy action scenes will like this free printable, and there's lots of space to play with textures. Golden yellow and light tan work for the straw and hay, warm browns for the fence and bucket, and a bright silvery blue on her armor will make her stand out from the castle. - 2Color the grass patch behind the scarecrow with leaf green, leaving the small grass tufts on the ground white.
- 3Fill the dress with sky blue and the leggings with royal blue, then add the yellow trim along the tunic hem.
- 4Color the scarecrow's straw body, its top tufts and the hay bales with sunny yellow, and use caramel tan on the bucket.
- 5Paint the face and hands peach, the hair and pole warm brown, the boots and bucket bands chocolate brown, and the sword in honey gold, leaving the eyes and highlights white.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of warm brown along the hair and straw edges to give the drawing a bit more depth.
