Classroom Drawing Peace Doves, a Martin Luther King Jr. Day Page

Coloring guide
A smiling teacher with long wavy hair stands behind four students, a stack of books in her arms, while they draw at their desks. A curly-haired girl in a headband colors a rainbow, a boy with round glasses and curly hair works on a dove, and a boy in a hoodie draws a dove with a little branch. In front, a long-haired girl fills in a big heart with rays around it. Crayons sit in cups on the desks. The room also has a globe, shelves packed with books, potted plants, and a window showing clouds and trees, plus wall posters of a heart, a rainbow and a dove. It's a sweet choice for a classroom or home activity about kindness and unity. Soft sky blue for the doves, bright rainbow stripes on the posters and warm red for the big heart work well. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the skin tones: fill the faces, hands and arms of the teacher and the four students with peach skin, leaving the eye whites and the small highlights white.
- 2Color the wooden desks and chairs with caramel brown, and fill the teacher's skirt and the globe land areas with light blue and sand as shown.
- 3Color the hoodies and the boy's shirt: bright blue for the boy's hoodie and the boy's sleeve, and rose pink for the girl's hoodie and sweater.
- 4Fill the teacher's purple sleeve and shirt with lavender purple, the crayon cups with emerald green and grass green, and the big heart with bright red.
- 5Leave the dove, the paper backgrounds and the clouds white, then add the rainbow, the window sky in pale blue and the hair in caramel brown and honey yellow.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading under the hoodies and along the desk edges with a slightly darker shade of the same color for more depth.
