Science Lab Plant Study, Teacher Appreciation Day Coloring Page
Coloring guide
A smiling teacher in a lab coat leans over a table with a girl and a boy, and all three are looking at a small potted plant with a few leaves. The girl holds up a magnifying glass while the boy peers toward a microscope next to him. The table also has test tubes in a rack, a jar holding a leaf, a petri dish with a leaf, a spiral notebook with leaf drawings, a pencil, a stack of books and a cup of colored pencils. On the shelves behind are labeled jars with a butterfly, leaves, a starfish and shells, plus rows of books, a globe, a hanging planet model of the solar system and leafy houseplants. This free printable makes a lovely thank-you gift for a favorite teacher. Fresh greens suit the plant, and a light blue lab coat helps the teacher stand out. Looking for more? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the skin areas: color the faces, hands, and arms of the teacher, girl, and boy in peach, leaving the eye whites and teeth white.
- 2Fill the big background areas next: paint the window sky and planets in pale sky blue, and the sun model in golden yellow.
- 3Color the hair: use chocolate brown for the girl's hair, dark brown for the teacher's bun, and caramel brown for the boy's hair.
- 4Add the clothes: make the girl's sweater golden yellow and her overalls royal blue, the boy's hoodie forest green, and the teacher's shirt lavender, keeping the lab coat white.
- 5Color the plants, pots, and shelves: use bright green and light green for the leaves, burnt orange for the pots, and tan for the wooden shelves.
- 6Optional: Finish with the lab details, like the microscope in light gray blue, the test tubes, and the books in royal blue and pumpkin orange.
