Floating through space in a full astronaut suit, a smiling bear waves one paw and reaches out to the side with the other. It wears a round bubble helmet with headphones, and the suit has a chest control panel, backpack straps, padded knees and chunky boots, so there are lots of sections to color. Around it drift ringed planets, a striped planet, a swirly planet, cratered moons, small asteroids, a little rocket with flames, and plenty of stars and sparkles. With big and small areas, it works for different ages, and it's free to print a few copies for a space-themed rainy day or class. Bright orange or white for the suit and purples, teals and yellows for the planets help the bear stand out. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the bear's head and the big fluffy fur areas with caramel brown, leaving the lighter muzzle and ears for the next step.
- 2Color the bear's muzzle and inner ears with pale peach, then add a rose pink smile and tongue.
- 3Use bright blue for the gloves, knee pads, boot soles and the shoulder and belt details, keeping the suit's white panels untouched.
- 4Add light sky blue to the helmet glass, then fill the chest screen with lemon yellow and the red stripes on the arms and legs with fire red.
- 5Color the planets and stars: golden yellow and tangerine orange for the top-left planet, azure blue and mint teal for the others, and lemon yellow for the stars.
- 6Optional: Leave small white shine spots on the helmet and suit so the bear looks shiny, and add light gray to the moons and rocks for a little texture.
