A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the bear's head, body, and both paws with warm brown, then color the inner ears and muzzle light peach while leaving the eye whites white.
- 2Color the cake's bottom and middle tiers cream, and leave the little frosting swirls on top white.
- 3Color the pink frosting bands and the top frosting soft pink, then fill the outer plate ring with lemon yellow and the inner ring with golden amber.
- 4Color the balloons: cherry red on the left, lemon yellow in the middle, bright blue on the top right, and lavender purple below it, leaving the shine spots white.
- 5Color the party hat with pale blue and bright blue stripes, the pompom and bunting flags with lemon yellow, bright blue, leaf green, and cherry red, and the blue garlands on the cake with bright blue. Finish the candles in tangerine orange and burnt orange.
- 6Optional: add a few darker brown strokes on the bear's fur and a little extra shading under the cake to make it look richer.
