A smiling teddy bear in a sleeveless leotard stands on one foot atop a balance beam. The other leg kicks out behind, one arm reaches out to the side, and the other paw waves up high with a little paw-pad pattern showing. Five outlined stars float around the bear, and the beam has two angled legs. Bold, clean outlines and big open shapes help young children who are still working on crayon control, while the leotard and beam add a little detail for older kids. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big brown areas: fill the bear's head, body, both arms, both legs and the rounded ears in caramel brown.
- 2Color the leotard on the bear's body and lower half in hot pink, then fill the wide stripe across the chest with blush pink.
- 3Fill the muzzle and the inner parts of both ears with pale peach, leaving the small eyes and nose uncolored for contrast.
- 4Color the top of the balance beam in sky blue, then fill its two legs and end supports in bright blue.
- 5Fill the four stars with golden yellow, keeping the background white.
- 6Optional: add a touch of chocolate brown to the big paw pad on the raised hand for a little extra depth.
