A smiling teddy bear stands up straight beside a large bubble-style capital B, with one paw raised to hold the string of a tall oval balloon. The bear has round ears, big sparkly eyes, a heart-shaped nose and an open happy mouth. Its belly is a big oval patch, its feet have small toes, and the other arm just hangs at its side. Two puffy clouds drift in the sky, a larger one at the upper left and a smaller one to the right of the balloon. Preschoolers and kindergartners can use the thick, clean lines to practice the letter B along with the words bear and balloon. Honey-brown fur with a creamy yellow belly would suit the bear, with a red balloon and a sky-blue B. The free PDF is ready to print for classroom time or a rainy day. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the bear's head, both ears and the raised paw with warm brown, keeping the inner ears and muzzle for the next step.
- 2Color the belly, the muzzle and the inner parts of both ears with cream yellow.
- 3Fill the two clouds with sky blue, and color the big letter B with royal blue while leaving its two inner counters white.
- 4Color the open mouth with coral pink and the small knot at the bottom of the balloon with cherry red, leaving the balloon and its shine white.
- 5Optional: add a few light strokes of a darker shade of brown on the bear's head and body to make the fur look softer.
