Rainy Day Teddy Bear Splashing in Puddles

Rain doesn't slow this smiling bear down. It wears a hooded raincoat and tall rubber boots, kicks one boot up in a big puddle, holds a large umbrella in one hand and stretches the other arm out for balance. The coat has two pockets, round buttons and drawstring ties at the hood. Raindrops fall everywhere, two fluffy clouds fill the top corners, and grass tufts and bushes peek in from both sides near the ground. Water splashes around the boots add lots of small shapes to color in. A bright yellow raincoat with red boots looks great, and blue for the puddle and raindrops helps the bear stand out. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the teddy bear's head, ears, paws and legs in warm brown, leaving the lighter inner ear areas for later.
- 2Color the big raincoat, including the sleeves, front and hem, in bright yellow, then add the hood top in the same yellow.
- 3Fill the umbrella panels: orange on the upper left, red on the lower left, bright yellow in the middle, sky blue on the right, leafy green on the lower right and a light blue tip at the top.
- 4Color both rain boots in sky blue, with the bottom of the left boot in deep blue, and the pocket flaps and hood edges in amber.
- 5Add the puddle and water splashes in light blue, the cloud in pale blue, and the inner ears in peach. Give the tongue a soft pink touch.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker brown shading under the bear's head and inside the hood for depth, and leave the white highlights on the hood and cloud edge untouched.
