Guitar Jam on a Cannon with Three Cartoon Pirates

Three cartoon pirates share a sunny moment on a wooden ship deck. One pirate sits on top of a large cannon in a spotted bandana, strumming a guitar and smiling with his mouth open. Below him, a bearded pirate in a big tricorn hat sits on a barrel with one hand raised to his chin and a puzzled look. Facing him stands a smaller pirate in a striped shirt, a knotted headscarf and short pants, arms held out wide. Behind them you can see a round cannonball, a coiled rope, a stack of crates, the sea with a flat horizon and a big sun with long rays. The wood plank floor has plenty of lines to fill in. Try warm browns for the barrels and planks, then give each pirate a different bandana pattern so the three are easy to tell apart. It also works well for a storytelling prompt: ask kids what song the guitar pirate is playing.
