Three smiling bears share a checkered picnic blanket, and each one holds a sandwich. The bear on the left has a bow on her head, the middle one wears a neckerchief and the one on the right sports a baseball cap. In front of them you'll find a woven picnic basket, a plate of sandwich halves, a few apples and a pitcher decorated with lemon slices and leaves. A big thick-trunked tree shades everyone, butterflies flutter above, and a wooden fence, rolling hills and puffy clouds fill the background. Flowers fill the foreground too. Kids who love tiny details will enjoy this free printable. Red and green work for the apples, bright yellow and orange for the lemon pitcher, and soft browns for the fur. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background: fill the sky with sky blue, then color the hills, bushes and grass with grass green and forest green. Leave the fluffy clouds and distant hills white.
- 2Paint the tree trunk and leafy branches with chestnut brown and grass green, then color the three bears' heads and bodies with caramel brown, using honey gold for the lighter ears, arms and paws.
- 3Fill the checkered tablecloth with salmon pink and blush pink, then add the apples in apple red and the pale blue pitcher.
- 4Color the lemonade in the pitcher with bright yellow and lemon yellow, add the bubblegum pink bow, and paint the middle bear's scarf in royal blue. Fill the sandwiches with cream and the plate with salmon pink.
- 5Optional: Leave the eye whites, cheek shines and the cap crown white for sparkle, and add a little darker shading on the bears and the tree trunk for depth.
