Top Hat SuperZings Creature With a Lightning Bolt Grin
Coloring guide
Both arms stretch forward with fingers spread wide, as if this mischievous little creature is about to play a trick. It has a huge toothy grin and big round eyes with small pupils. A tall cylinder hat with a round knob on top sits on its head, and a jagged lightning bolt marks the middle of its forehead between pointed, spiky ears. Sharp cape-like wings flare out behind the arms, and the rounded body has a banded belly section. The chunky robotic legs show a shin guard, and a single ground line runs under the feet. Large shapes and bold outlines make it a good pick for kids still learning to stay inside the lines. Electric yellow for the lightning bolt, deep purple for the hat, and bright green for the wings could be fun. Print or download it free for an easy afternoon activity. Looking for more? A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- golden yellow
- royal blue
- pale blue
- lemon yellow
- orange
- sky blue
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big blue parts: color the tall top hat, the main body and both legs with royal blue, leaving the white space around the eyes and teeth for later.
- 2Use pale blue for the inner rim of the hat, the lower body band, the knees and the small rings on the wrists and hand.
- 3Fill the big spiky points, the center spike, the top spike and the hands' fingers and thumbs with golden yellow, keeping the lightning bolt on the face for the next step.
- 4Color the lightning bolt on the face, the feet, the lower fingers and the small button on top of the hat with lemon yellow.
- 5Add orange to the eyebrow and the little fang by the mouth, and use sky blue for the small spot beside the right eye. Keep both eye whites and the teeth white.
- 6Optional: add light diagonal strokes in a slightly darker shade of each color for a textured look, and keep the background white.
