Tower Balcony Daydream with a Braided Princess
Coloring guide
Chin resting on her hands, a young princess leans over a stone balcony and gazes at the sky with a happy, wistful smile. She wears a small tiara, puffy sleeves and a laced bodice, and her extra-long braid hangs down the side of the tower, finished with a big bow. Three little birds flutter close by, and fluffy clouds fill the background next to a tall arched castle window. The rounded balusters on the railing and the stone bricks give kids plenty of shapes to fill in. Golden yellow suits the braid, bright pink or purple the bow, and soft blues the sky. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big stone areas: fill the tower walls, balcony, and lower wall blocks with warm beige, leaving the sky and clouds for later.
- 2Color the tower roof and its trim with lavender, then fill the tall arched window with medium blue and the balusters with tan.
- 3Fill the braided hair and the crown with golden yellow, adding a coral pink ribbon at the braid end, and color the dress and puffy sleeves in purple and pink.
- 4Paint the birds and clouds with light blue and sky blue, and fill the right bird with sky blue, keeping the background sky white.
- 5Optional: Add a deeper shade of purple to the dress folds and a little dusty rose on the neck and arm for a softer, shaded look.
