Turkey Holding a Big Pumpkin by the Barn

A cartoon turkey hugs a large round pumpkin with both wings while its wide tail fan spreads out behind it. The turkey has big round eyes, an open smiling beak, a wattle and two little feathers on top of its head. Behind it stands a farm barn with an X-braced window, a hayloft door and a small square window, plus a tall silo with a dome top. Puffy bushes, small clouds, spiky grass tufts and zigzag grass lines fill the background. The scene is drawn turned on its side, so rotate the paper before you start. Try coloring each tail feather section in a different fall shade, then talk about why the pumpkin's curved ribs make a good pattern to shade. This printable page is a nice fit for a Thanksgiving table or classroom activity.
