Skating Kittens by a Snowy Cabin, 44 Cats Winter Page
Coloring guide
Arm in arm, two smiling kittens glide over a frozen pond in white ice skates with laced boots. The taller cat on the left trails a long striped scarf, and the one on the right wears a polka-dot scarf with fringed ends. Swirling skate marks curve through the ice under their feet. Behind them are a little log cabin with smoke rising from its chimney, a small wooden footbridge, snow-covered pine trees and a distant mountain. Snowflakes drift through the sky and settle around the scene. It's a cozy pick for kids who love cats and winter, and the free printable PDF leaves plenty of room for crayons or markers. A red and white striped scarf and a bright purple dotted one will help the two friends stand out against the icy blue pond. - 1Fill the orange cat's head, body, arms, paws and tail with warm orange, and the cream kitten's head, body, arms, paws and tail with cream.
- 2Color the inner ears of both cats and the cream kitten's cheeks with rose pink, then paint the orange cat's skate boots bright blue and the cream kitten's skate boots rose pink.
- 3Color the orange cat's scarf with bright red and deep red stripes, and the cream kitten's scarf with lavender purple, leaving the white polka dots unpainted.
- 4Fill the ice patches and the river with very light blue and pale ice blue, and color the distant mountain and its shadow with pale blue.
- 5Add the background details: dark teal for the distant pine trees, soft teal for the river edges, and forest green for the bottom left bush, keeping the snowy cabin, trees and snow white. Optional: add a little darker orange or light blue shading under the cats for depth.
