Hot Dog Pals Hand in Hand with a Heart

Coloring guide
Two smiling hot dog characters stand side by side holding hands, with one heart floating above them. Each has a long bun, a wavy line of mustard or ketchup zigzagging down the middle, big shiny eyes, an open happy mouth and a little curl of sausage on top of its head. They also have small arms, short legs and chunky rounded shoes. The white background leaves nothing to distract little colorers. Big shapes and bold outlines make this free printable handy for preschoolers and early elementary kids learning to stay inside the lines. Make one wavy line yellow for mustard and the other red for ketchup, then add a pink or red heart. It would also fit a Valentine's Day or friendship activity table in a classroom. This fits right in with our Hot Dog coloring pages — see also For Girls and For Kids.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- sausage brown
- light orange
- golden yellow
- sky blue
- bright red
- coral pink
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the heart bright red, leaving the outline neat.
- 2Fill both hot dog bodies, their heads, arms, hands and legs with sausage brown, including the hands holding each other in the middle.
- 3Color both buns light orange, working around the sausage shapes so the edges stay clean.
- 4Add the wavy mustard lines on both hot dogs in golden yellow.
- 5Color the shoes sky blue and leave the white soles at the bottom bare.
- 6Fill the smiles with coral pink and keep the eye whites, eye shines and background white. Optional: add a few darker strokes on the sausage brown and buns for a little depth.
