Kids Rolling a Giant Snowball for a Snowman
Coloring guide
Out in a snowy yard, a boy and a girl lean into one enormous snowball and push it along together, both grinning from the effort. They match in winter gear: pom-pom knit hats, fringed scarves, buttoned coats with pockets, thick mittens and chunky boots. His hat has simple stripes and hers has a zigzag band, so little ones get some patterns to fill in. Further back you will spot a snow-covered cottage with a chimney and small window, a picket fence, rounded bushes and a tall snowy pine. Small snow tufts are scattered over the ground. That big blank snowball is perfect for practicing smooth, even strokes. One hat could be bright red and the other sky blue, and the snow can stay white or get a light pale blue shade. Free to print, and it suits preschoolers on up through early elementary. More like this: explore the Snowman, Halloween and Gingerbread House coloring page collections.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: fill the boy's jacket and mittens with sky blue, and the girl's jacket with coral pink, leaving the snowball white.
- 2Color the pine tree forest green and the boy's pants navy blue, then shade the chimney burnt orange and the roof light gray.
- 3Fill the boy's hat with bright blue and the girl's hat with light pink, then add the boy's red scarf and the girl's lavender scarf.
- 4Color the hair: the boy's hair brown and the girl's hair lemon yellow, then fill the faces and hands with peach.
- 5Add the tan orange fence, light blue window panes and caramel brown bushes, then finish the boots and cream fur trim.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading on the snowball with light gray, and keep the eye whites, highlights and background snow white.
