Two Kids Tackling in American Football Helmets
Coloring guide
A young ball carrier in helmet and jersey charges ahead with the football tucked under his arm. A smaller player, either a teammate or an opponent, hugs both arms around his waist with a big grin to bring him down. Both kids have face-mask helmets, short-sleeved jerseys, knee pads, striped socks and cleats, so there's lots of gear to color. Grass tufts dot the ground near their feet, and the background is left empty for your child's own ideas. Lines are bold and clear for new colorers, and the free printable is a good fit for a game-day party or a rainy afternoon. Give each player a different jersey, maybe red for the runner and blue for the tackler, and color the ball brown with white laces. Add this to your American Football coloring page collection, alongside NHL / Hockey and Tennis.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- bright red
- light peach
- charcoal gray
- brown
- light gray
- silver gray
- soft pink
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the skin on both boys' faces, necks, arms and hands using a light peach color, leaving the eye whites, teeth and white helmet stripes uncolored.
- 2Fill in both helmet shells and the jerseys, sleeves and shoulder pads with a bright red, keeping the white stripes on the helmets and the white trim on the sleeves.
- 3Color the football in brown, then leave its white laces and the bright highlight lines uncolored.
- 4Add charcoal gray to the two boots and the boys' shoes, and use silver gray for the face guards on the helmets.
- 5Color the helmet clasps and the small hardware pieces in light gray so they stand out against the red.
- 6Optional: Add a little soft pink on the cheeks and mouth for a friendly touch, and leave the pants, knee pads and sock stripes white as shown.
