Space Kittens Beside a Rocket, 44 Cats Printable
Coloring guide
Two striped kittens in bubble helmets float side by side and wave hello with their paws. Between them sits a chunky rocket with a round porthole window and a swirly flame tail. Both wear puffy spacesuits with a small control panel on the chest and headphone-style ear pieces, and the kitten on the left carries a backpack. The one on the right has a curly tail and long lashes. The night sky around them holds a ringed planet, a crescent moon, lots of stars and small dots. With clean lines and large shapes, it works well for preschoolers and early elementary kids. A bright red rocket with a blue porthole looks great, and the planet's rings can get sunny yellow and orange stripes. It's a free printable for a rainy afternoon or a space-themed day in class. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big shapes: fill the rocket body with bright blue, and color its nose and both side fins bright red.
- 2Color both cat faces, the cat tail and the raised paws light orange, leaving the eye whites, the white muzzle areas and the shine spots white.
- 3Paint the planet with deep purple and lavender purple stripes, then color the planet ring soft yellow and golden yellow, keeping the small highlights white.
- 4Fill the helmet visors with pale blue, and color the helmet rims, hinges and knobs light blue or sky blue. Leave the bright shine spots on the glass white.
- 5Color the stars, the porthole rings, the chest buttons and the middle rocket flame golden yellow, then add deep orange to the bottom flames and light gray to the backpacks, rocket band and suit pocket. Keep the astronaut suits white.
- 6Optional: add a little shading with a slightly darker shade of the same color on the rocket body, the planet and the cat faces.
