Two Overlapping Birch Leaves With Heart-Shaped Bases

Coloring guide
Two leaves overlap on the page, a large one in front and a smaller one tucked behind it on the right. Both have pointed tips, a heart-shaped base, and little scalloped teeth along the edges. A thick central midrib runs down the front leaf and curves into a long stem at the bottom. Thin veins branch off the midrib in curved lines toward the edges. The back leaf has its own midrib, side veins, and a thinner stem that joins the larger one near the base. The open spaces between the veins are big and easy to fill in. Kids could color each section a slightly different shade of green, or use autumn colors like yellow, orange, and red. It also works well for a quick lesson on leaf parts such as the stem, midrib, veins, and edge. Print as many copies as you need for a nature table or a class leaf study.
