Two Lion Cubs Tumbling in the Grass Under Butterflies
Coloring guide
One cub stands over its sibling with a paw on the other's head, while the second cub lies on its back in the grass, grinning up with paws in the air. Both have big round eyes, small tufted manes, rounded ears, whiskers and tail tufts. Three butterflies flutter overhead, two of them with dotted trails showing where they've flown. Tufts of grass run along the bottom of the page around the cubs. Thick outlines and large open shapes help younger children, and the fluffy tails and paw pads give older kids room for detail. Golden yellow and warm orange suit the cubs, and soft purple and pink on the wings will stand out against the green grass. Print the free PDF at home for a fun afternoon activity. - 1Fill the upper cub's head, body, chest, and raised paw with golden yellow, leaving the eye whites and eye shine white.
- 2Color the lower cub's back, legs, and raised paw with golden tan, then add light peach to its belly, foot pads, and chin.
- 3Add blush pink to the inner ears, coral to the nose, and rose pink to the open mouths, keeping the teeth and eye shines white.
- 4Color the upper cub's tail with chocolate brown and the lower cub's tail with dark brown, then fill the grass with grass green.
- 5Paint the butterflies with lemon yellow, sky blue, light blue, and soft pink, leaving their wing highlights white. Optional: add a little extra golden tan shading along the lower cub's body to make it pop.
