Rainy Day Puddle Jumping with Puppy Dog Pals
Coloring guide
Sharing one big umbrella, two floppy-eared pups in hooded raincoats and rain boots leap through a puddle, and one of them grips the handle with a paw. Big raindrops fall from a fluffy cloud overhead, and splashes and ripples spread out around their boots. Both have happy open-mouth smiles. Their raincoats have round buttons and front pockets, which are fun little details to color. In the bottom corner a tiny snail with a spiral shell sits on a spotted mushroom beside a few blades of grass. Clear lines and big shapes suit preschoolers and early elementary kids. Yellow and red raincoats look cheerful against a soft blue umbrella and cloud. Download the free PDF for a screen-free activity at home. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big yellow areas: color the cloud pale blue, the umbrella panels and both raincoat-style hoods with yellow, leaving the umbrella rib lines white.
- 2Fill the left puppy's body in light tan and caramel, adding the brown ears and tail, then color the right puppy's face, paws and tail in cream.
- 3Paint the pink raincoat and hood on the right puppy, then add the red rain boots and the purple boots on the other side.
- 4Color the raindrops and the puddle splashes in sky blue, and add the red mushroom cap with peach spots, leaving the spot highlights white.
- 5Optional: Add the golden yellow buttons and the orange hood edge last, and keep the eye shines and teeth white for a sparkly finish.
