Gardening Together in a Raised Veggie Bed, Coloring For Teens
Coloring guide
One boy in a hoodie kneels by a wooden raised garden bed, pressing a blooming flower into the soil, while a girl in a ponytail and overalls waters the plants with a big watering can. The bed holds a row of daisy-like flowers, two leafy cabbages, a tomato plant with ripe tomatoes climbing a stake, and little carrots with feathery tops. A picket fence and bushes stand behind them, a wheelbarrow full of carrots sits at the left edge, and a hand trowel rests on the grass in the corner. Older kids who like careful coloring will find lots of detail to enjoy. Red tomatoes and orange carrots look great, and a few different greens help the cabbage leaves stand apart from the tomato foliage. Free to print. - 1Start with the grass areas, bushes, fence-side greenery and the wheelbarrow: fill them with grass green, forest green and olive green, leaving the fence pickets pale khaki yellow.
- 2Color the boy's hoodie and sleeves sky blue, and his pants pale khaki yellow, keeping his skin light tan with peach on his hands.
- 3Fill the garden soil and the bed with dark brown, then add the medium brown and caramel wood edges of the raised bed.
- 4Color the cabbages with light lime and grass green, the tomatoes with tomato red, and the carrots with carrot orange. Use medium brown for the tomato stake.
- 5Paint the girl's overalls hot pink, her skin light tan and her hair medium brown. Color the watering can cool gray and leave her white T-shirt white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker green or brown along the edges of the leaves and soil to give the scene some depth.
