Waving Dora the Explorer and Boots with a Little Bucket
Coloring guide
Dora smiles with her mouth open, one hand raised in a little wave and the other gripping the handle of a small bucket at her side. Next to her, her monkey friend Boots looks up with a grin, one hand on his hip and his feet tucked into big boots. Dora wears her bob haircut, a short-sleeved shirt, shorts, a beaded bracelet, ruffled socks and strappy sneakers, and her backpack straps show over her shoulders. No background, so little ones can focus on the pair. Large shapes like the shirt, shorts and bucket are easy for small hands, while the bracelet and sock ruffles give older kids something to tackle. A bright pink shirt for Dora and warm brown for Boots would be a good start. Print or download this free page for a screen-free activity at home. Looking for more? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: color Dora's hair dark brown, including the top and both sides, and her face and raised arm peach.
- 2Fill Dora's shirt and backpack with hot pink and royal purple, then color her shorts orange.
- 3Color the bucket sky blue, leaving the thin rim and the highlight lines untouched.
- 4Paint Boots' face, hands and head in baby pink and light lavender, then add his bright red shoes and pale yellow belly.
- 5Add golden yellow socks to Dora and the frills on her ankles, and color Boots' tail pale yellow with lavender at the tip.
- 6Finish with details: chocolate brown eyes, brick red mouths, and Dora's white sneakers and eye shines. Optional: add a little darker shading under the hair and the bucket for depth.
