Waving Scarecrow and Mailbox Flower from Plants vs. Zombies

This patchwork scarecrow stands in the grass with one hand up in a big friendly wave. His floppy pointed hat has a square patch, straw pokes out from under the brim, and a jagged leafy collar circles his neck. He has a stitched triangle nose, cross-stitch marks on his cheeks and a wide open smile. One sleeve is checkered and the other is wavy, and both have patches and straw cuffs. The overalls come with two round buttons, a large stitched patch on the leg and rolled cuffs above big boots with straw at the ankles. Next to him, a mailbox with a raised flag sits inside a flower-shaped bloom on a tall stem with two leaves. A small flower and grass tufts cover the ground. Oranges and browns suit the hat and straw, and denim blue is good for the overalls. It makes a nice free printable for a fall craft afternoon. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the scarecrow's face in peach, leaving the two big eye whites bright white and adding a dark maroon open mouth.
- 2Color the overalls and their straps in denim blue, and the shirt and right arm in bright red, saving the cuffs for later.
- 3Fill the hat crown and brim in medium brown, then add a bright blue hat band and a grass green patch on the hat.
- 4Color the hair strands, the scarecrow's collar, the waving hand, the mailbox petals and the hand straw in golden yellow.
- 5Use grass green for the patches on the pants and sleeve, sky blue for the pant cuffs, and dark brown for the shoe soles and fringe.
- 6Optional: Add leaf green to the flower stems and leaves, violet purple to the flower petals, orange to the nose, and light gray to the mailbox flag.
