Welcome Back to School Building With Apple Worm

A big school building fills the bottom of the page, with a tall clock tower in the center and a pointed roof on top. The clock face shows two hands. Below the tower, a sign reads SCHOOL above a double front door made of small window panes. Two rows of tall windows run across the wide front, each one divided into tiny square panes. Above it all, arched letters say Welcome Back to School!, and a smiling worm pokes out of an apple. He wears glasses and a graduation cap, and the apple has a single leaf. The lines are clean and the panes are small, so fine-tip markers or colored pencils work well. Try coloring the bricks and roof in warm tones, then make the windows light blue. You could also ask kids to practice reading the clock by drawing in their own school start time.
