This grinning witch fills the page, and the design works nicely as a mask. Her wide cartoon eyes glance off to the side, and her long pointy nose has a little wart on the tip. The tall, crooked hat has a big square buckle on the band. Her hair tumbles in loose, bouncy curls down both sides of her face, with a row of ringlets tucked under the brim. Five small stars float around her head: two on the left, one at the upper right and two near the bottom corners. The open smile and big hat leave roomy spaces for small hands. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the face and nose in lime green, leaving the two big eye whites empty so they stay bright.
- 2Color the curly hair on both sides, the bangs and the little curls by the cheeks in orange.
- 3Fill the pointy hat top and the middle of the brim in bright purple, then color the outer edges of the brim in dark plum.
- 4Color the hat band in orange, then fill the square buckle and its small tab in golden yellow.
- 5Fill the open mouth inside with coral red, color the lower lip area soft pink, and add the nose stud in lemon yellow.
- 6Finish the floating stars in golden yellow. Optional: add a few darker strokes on the hat and hair to make the colors look richer.
