Woman in Head Wrap and Patterned Garment With Falling Leaves

A woman is drawn from the chest up, facing forward with her head tilted slightly and a calm, steady look. She wears a wrapped head scarf with stripes, scallop trim and a dotted section, plus a small drop earring. Her top has wide, loose sleeves with diagonal stripes, a scalloped oval patch with a wavy line down the middle, and a band of small dots near the bottom. One hand shows in the lower left corner. Loose leaves float in the white space around her. The large shapes and clear outlines work well for markers or colored pencils. Try giving each stripe on the head wrap and sleeves its own color, then use soft greens, oranges and browns for the leaves. It could also start a conversation in a classroom about patterns, clothing and the women who inspire us. Print as many copies as you need.
