Yawning Lion Cub Leaning on a Ledge

A young lion cub peeks over a flat ledge with both big paws resting on the edge, and its mouth is stretched wide open in a huge yawn. The eyes are squeezed shut and the nose is scrunched up. Small tufts of fur stick up on top of the head and around the cheeks, and the round ears are drawn with simple inner details. You can see the tongue and the dark inside of the mouth, plus the toes on each paw. The lines are thick and clean, which makes this a good fit for younger kids using chunky crayons. Try golden yellows and tans for the fur, soft pink for the tongue and inner ears, and a deep brown or black for the open mouth. It could also start a quick chat about what makes you sleepy. This printable page works well for quiet time or a calm afternoon activity.
