A smiling child in a lab coat and big safety goggles holds up a flask with bubbles and little puffs rising out of it. The child has wavy hair parted in the middle and a curly section on one side. Beside the scientist you'll find a school backpack with a flap, a buckle strap, a front pocket and a small side pocket. There is also a spiral notebook with a zigzag pattern and a blank label, plus a sharpened pencil lying at an angle. The thick, clean lines make it easy for younger kids to color. Try turning the flask contents into a color mixing lesson, using crayons to layer two colors for the bubbles. The zigzag notebook is also a good place to practice patterns. Print a free copy for the first week of school or a science center.
