Angel Appearing to Shepherds and Their Sheep

A tall angel with large feathered wings stands in the air with both arms stretched wide and palms open, wearing a long robe with a draped sash. Below, one bearded shepherd on the left wears a head covering and folds his hands while he looks up. A second shepherd sits with his back to us on the right, holding a tall curved staff. Three sheep gather between them, one standing, one lifting its head, and one lying down. Rolling hills, small plants, and four-pointed stars fill the background. This free printable page works well for a Christmas story lesson. Try a deep blue and purple night sky with yellow stars, then ask kids to color the angel's robe in a bright, light shade so the angel stands out from the shepherds' earthy tones. The large open shapes in the robes and wings suit crayons or markers.
