Grumpy Birdhouse Bird Swooping Left, a Cuphead Boss

A grumpy bird flies toward the left with a wooden birdhouse where its body should be. The head has big black eyes, a heavy furrowed brow and a long curved beak that points down. A small tuft of feathers sticks up on top. One wing is raised behind the house and a much larger wing sweeps out on the right, both with layered feather tips. The birdhouse has a peaked roof covered in scalloped shingles, plank lines on the walls and a round hole on the side. Two clenched feet with claws hang underneath. Try the shingles in alternating browns and reds so the pattern stands out, then pick softer grays or blues for the feathers. This free printable also works well for talking about shapes, since you can point out the circles, scallops and triangles in the roof and hole.
