Animal Teams Playing Space Jam Basketball on a Floating Court
Coloring guide
This lively outer-space game has a duck leaping high with a basketball raised overhead, while a bunny dribbles a ball down below. The court also has a pig jumping with one hand in the air, a turtle reaching for a ball in mid-flight, and a smiling little alien with antennae cheering with both arms up. Everyone wears jerseys, shorts and sneakers. The round court floats on a chunk of jagged rock, with a hoop on each side. Around it are a ringed planet, a swirling galaxy, a cratered moon, comets, asteroids and lots of tiny stars. Deep purples and blues for the sky, bright orange basketballs, and a different jersey color for each player will help the team stand out. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the court floor: fill the wide wooden floor with honey orange, and use light gold for the lighter stripes near the left side.
- 2Color the floating rock base underneath in warm brown, and use chocolate brown for the darkest lower rocks.
- 3Fill the duck's head and arm in copper brown, then paint its red jersey and shorts with bright red.
- 4Color the pig in coral pink, the bunny's jersey in sunny yellow, and the turtle's head and arm in leaf green with purple shorts. Leave the bunny's ears and eye whites white.
- 5Add the alien in lime green with tangerine orange shorts, then color the basketballs, the ringed planets and the sky blue court rims and galaxy swirls. Optional: add a little darker shading under the court edge for depth.
