Tree Full of Apples With Grassy Roots

Coloring guide
A big, leafy apple tree fills the page, with a thick trunk that splits into curving branches. Nine large apples hang among the leaves, each with a little stem and a leaf or two, so there's plenty to color. The crown has a bumpy, scalloped cloud-like outline, and you'll spot a knot hole on the trunk. Down at the bottom, spiky tufts of grass sit where the roots spread out. The bold, clear lines are friendly for young children still working on staying inside them, and older kids can add bark texture to the trunk. Red and yellow work for the apples, fresh greens for the leaves and a warm brown for the trunk. It's a free printable for a quiet afternoon, a nature lesson or a fall classroom activity. Kids who like Apple coloring pages usually enjoy For Girls and For Kids too.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the tree trunk and both main branches with warm brown, including the small branch ends that reach out to the apples.
- 2Color the big rounded canopy sections at the top, sides and bottom with bright green, leaving the apples unfilled for now.
- 3Add bright green to the inner foliage near the trunk and the leafy areas along the branches so the tree looks full.
- 4Use forest green for the darker leaves on the left and top, and olive green for the leaf on the right side of the tree.
- 5Fill every apple with tomato red, then finish by adding small details like the stems and small leaves in their matching colors.
- 6Optional: Add a slightly darker brown along one side of the trunk and a deeper green in shadowed parts of the canopy for depth.
