Apples, Pitcher and Glass on a Checkered Table

Coloring guide
Three round apples with leafy stems sit in front of a big glass pitcher on a tiled, checkered tabletop, and a tall glass of juice or water stands beside them. Two extra leaves rest on the table near the apples. In the background, a window shows a puffy cloud, and a small potted plant sits on a cabinet with a round knob on the right. Shiny highlights on the apples, pitcher and glass are good spots to leave white or shade lightly. For a cheerful kitchen scene, try red and green apples and golden apple juice in the pitcher and glass. Large shapes and clear outlines suit preschoolers and early elementary kids, and the checkered pattern is a fun challenge for older ones. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the juice: fill the pitcher and the glass with golden yellow, leaving the small white glints on the pitcher and glass untouched.
- 2Color the pitcher and glass edges with ice blue, and the pitcher handle with the same light blue so the glass looks clear.
- 3Fill the three apples with apple red, keeping the small white shine spots on each apple, then add leaf green to the stems and leaves.
- 4Color the checkered tablecloth, alternating coral red and white squares, with light coral and blush for the lighter tones near the apples.
- 5Color the window bush and plant with light green and leafy green, then add the wood brown window frame and the blue cabinet.
- 6Optional: Add a bit of extra shading on the apples and tablecloth with a darker tone of the same color to make them look rounder.
