Paris Landmark: Arc de Triomphe in a Paved Square

Coloring guide
A big stone arch stands in the middle of an open paved square, drawn from a corner angle so you can see two sides at once. Carved sculpture groups fill the lower pillars, and long bands of tiny figures run along the top. Rectangular relief panels, round medallions and a row of small squares line the upper edge, and the inside of each archway has a pattern of recessed boxes. A column of small engraved words is on one pillar. Far off on the right, the Eiffel Tower pokes up behind some trees and buildings. Try soft sandy tans and creams for the stone, then use a fine pencil for the carvings so they stand out. It also works well for a geography lesson about Paris, with kids finding the Eiffel Tower in the background.
