Ariel Resting on a Rock Daydreaming by the Sea

A young mermaid with very long, flowing hair lies on her tummy on a smooth rock at the water's edge. Her chin rests on one hand while the other arm is tucked in front of her, and she gazes upward with a dreamy, surprised look and her mouth slightly open. She wears a shell-style top, and her scaly fish tail curls up behind her with a finned tip. Two empty thought bubbles float at the left, so kids can draw what she might be imagining. Wavy lines for water run across the background and around the rock. Try soft greens and teals for the tail, and use the blank bubbles as a writing or drawing prompt. This free printable works well for quiet afternoons, and the large open shapes in the hair suit crayons or markers.
