Astronaut Basketball Slam Dunk Among the Planets
Coloring guide
A smiling young astronaut flies through space with one arm stretched high, just after tossing a basketball toward a hoop. The ball trails a swirly comet-like tail, and the hoop has a square backboard and a crisscross net. The astronaut has a round helmet, a chest control panel, a backpack with a hose, chunky boots and padded knees. Around the action are a ringed planet, a crescent moon with craters, a wavy-striped planet, a cratered round moon, a small ringed planet at the bottom, and lots of little stars. Large shapes keep it easy for small hands, and the net and stars give older kids some detail work. A bright orange ball and planets in different blues and purples will contrast well with the astronaut's white suit. Download this free PDF for a screen-free activity at home. - 2Paint the backboard frame royal blue and the hoop rim bright red, leaving the backboard center white.
- 3Fill the net under the hoop with light gray, keeping the inner white highlights bare.
- 4Color the astronaut's boots, backpack, and glove parts with royal blue and sky blue, leaving the suit white.
- 5Add the striped planet in teal and sea green, the wavy planet in aqua blue, and the purple planet in lavender purple.
- 6Finish with golden yellow on the stars, comet tail, crescent moon, and chest panel, plus peach skin and brown hair. Optional: add pale blue shading on the helmet visor for depth.
