Baby Bear and the Honey Pot Visited by a Bee
Coloring guide
On the grass sits a smiling baby bear, big paw-pad feet facing us, hugging a large honey pot. Thick honey drips down the side, with one drop falling below. The bear has round ears, sparkly eyes and an open happy mouth with a little tongue showing. In the top left corner a cheerful bee with a striped body and tiny wings buzzes along, leaving a looping dotted trail. A round leafy tree and a small bush frame the right side, and tufts of grass and little leafy sprigs are scattered around the bear. Big shapes and clean lines are easy for small hands. Golden yellow and orange for the honey and the bee's stripes, plus warm brown fur, would look lovely. A sweet free printable for preschoolers and early learners. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the bear's big areas: color the head, belly, arms, legs, ears, tail and the outside of the feet in warm brown, leaving the eye whites and the background white.
- 2Fill the honey pot's rim, upper body, middle and bottom with amber, then color the two bands around the pot dark brown.
- 3Paint the honey inside the pot, the dripping honey down the side and the single drop in golden yellow, plus the bee's head and body.
- 4Color the bee's two wings sky blue, then use grass green for the bush, the grass tufts and the tree's little leaves near the bottom.
- 5Use peach for the foot pads, toe beans, paw pads and inner ears, and color the bear's tongue coral pink.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of warm brown along the bear's sides and under the pot to make the drawing feel more rounded.
