Birthday Cake Fun With Baby Blastoise
Coloring guide
Behind a birthday cake with three lit candles sits a chubby, big-eyed baby turtle in a striped party hat with a pom-pom. From the shell and the two cannons on its shoulders, it looks like a cute chibi Blastoise. A star-shaped balloon floats on each side, and a small star hovers above the hat. Confetti is scattered around the cake, which has wavy icing and sits on a round plate. Bold lines and large shapes make it a friendly choice for young kids and early colorers. Bright blue for the turtle and warm brown for the shell work well, and giving each balloon its own color lets the star shapes stand out. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the turtle's head, arms, paws and body with lime green, leaving the little shine spots in the eyes white.
- 2Color the shell sections with forest green and emerald green, and add pale lime green to the outer shell edges.
- 3Fill the two side balloons and the top star with golden yellow, then color the top balloons cherry red and add orange stars on the side balloons.
- 4Color the party blowers and candles sky blue, the party hat stripes with orange and golden yellow, and the cake with chocolate brown and cream.
- 5Add soft pink cheeks, cherry red and orange candle details, golden yellow flames, and sky blue on the cake plate, keeping the balloon shine white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading under the shell and paws with a deeper shade of the same color for extra depth.
