Curious Baby Chick Meets a Ladybug

Leaning forward with wide, curious eyes, a round little chick peeks at a smiling ladybug sitting on a big leaf. The chick has a tiny open beak, a fluffy tuft on its head, a small wing and two webbed feet planted in the grass. Daisy-style flowers with long stems and leaves fill the background on both sides, and a third flower blooms in the bottom corner by a few grass blades. The ladybug's round shell has big dots, which are easy for small hands to color. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the chick's head, body, and wing with golden yellow, leaving the big eye whites and the small highlight on the eyes white.
- 2Color the large leaf under the ladybug and the grass blades in leaf green, keeping the bottom right grass uncolored.
- 3Paint the top left flower petals with lavender purple and the flower centers with golden yellow, then do the same for the bottom left and right flowers using rose pink petals.
- 4Color the chick's beak and both feet in tangerine orange, leaving the small teeth white.
- 5Fill the ladybug's shell with bright red, leaving its head and the black spots uncolored.
- 6Optional: Add a slightly darker shade of each color along one side of the petals, leaves, and chick's body for a bit more depth.
